What happens in your initial physio assessment?
Here at The Well Balanced Centre, there are a number of things we look for and discuss in your initial assessment. This includes:
Chatting about your movement goals
Relieving immediate pain with physiotherapy
Analysing your strength, movement, balance, coordination and walking functionality
Looking around the home and spotting hazards
Creating a tailored exercise home plan for you
This initial assessment is a great way to start your Well Balanced journey. We can help you set realistic goals and tailor your plan to aim for them. The home based physiotherapy in Balcombe that we offer can help relieve pain and make you more mobile.
Preventing future falls how a physiotherapist can help
A really important part of what we do is spotting hazards and preventing future falls. As industry experts, we can look around your home and identify fall hazards. These hazards can include furniture, doorways and flooring. We can spot places where hand-rails could be helpful and suggest other home improvements to make your life easier.
Why home based physio?
People often ask why they should opt for home based physiotherapy in Balcombe. One of the main benefits of having a home-based experience is that is it easily accessible for elderly patients. Clients can avoid the stress of travelling to a clinic, instead receiving treatment from the comfort of their own home.
Having treatment at home also means we can work with the patient in their home environment. This means we can practice everyday movements and work on safely travelling around the home.
What physio treatments do we offer?
The Well Balanced Centre offers a range of treatments including:
Strength and balance training
Walking practice and gait re-education
Specialised physiotherapy to target pain and stiffness
Post orthopaedic surgical rehabilitation
Regaining movement confidence
We realise that the impact of a fall or stay in hospital is not only physical, but mental as well. We will work with you to increase your movement confidence. We can help you feel confident in everyday activities like getting up from a chair or using the stairs. Eventually, you will feel strong and confident enough to get back into your local community.
Why The Well Balanced Centre?
After working for the NHS for 16 years, I founded The Well Balanced Centre. This was because I wanted to provide kind and patient-centric home based care that was easily accessible. I saw too many elderly patients fall into a cycle of coming in and out of hospital. I wanted to stop this by making sure my patients were fully rehabilitated and safe back home. By taking the time to fully recover, you can avoid constantly being in and out of hospital.
